You Are The Witness

12 “No one has seen God at any time. If we love one another, God abides in us, and His love has been perfected in us. 13 By this we know that we abide in Him, and He in us, because He has given us of His Spirit. 14 And we have seen and testify that the Father has sent the Son as Savior of the world.”    1 John 4:12-14    NKJV

Did you notice when you read these verses what appears to be an oddity?  In verse 12 John tells us that no one has seen God.  Then just two verses later the same author says “we have seen”.  Which is it?  How can one who cannot see possibly see so that they might testify?

What John is saying is that no one has seen God in the natural, but we have seen Him in the spiritual because as verse 13 alludes to, we have the Holy Spirit which proves that He abides in us, and we abide in Him.  The Holy Spirit of God abides in your spirit from the moment of your salvation.  This is what the new creation of you is, your spirit which had been dead now made alive because the Holy Spirit of God has come to dwell in you.  The Holy Spirit which is in you is also always in the presence of the Lord.

We have seen because we are tied to Him through the Holy Spirit which is like a great unseen umbilical cord of light that ties us to the heavenly throne room and presence of God.  Through the Holy Spirit in your spirit, He truly abides and dwells within you and through the Holy Spirit, you dwell in Him.  AWESOME!

Because you are tied to His presence right now and you can always abide in Him, you are in His presence in the spiritual realm.  Your mind and soul cannot perceive this because it is spiritual, but even though you cannot see that with your natural eyes and natural senses, He is in you and you are in Him.  The Holy Spirit, in your spirit, sees Him every moment of every day. And since the Holy Spirit is in you, you testify of Him to this natural world.

We are the ones that are to be the witness and then give testimony of that witness to the world.  We are to give testimony of what we see and experience to the world.  Your life should be your daily testimony, your witness, because you have seen that the Father has sent the Son as Savior and we live in the truth and power of that reality each and every day.
