Saying You Are Strong

“…let the weak say, I am strong [a warrior]!”  Joel 3:10   Amplified Bible

There are so many times in life when it just feels as though circumstances are getting the better of us.  Often it just feels as though we are powerless to advance,  powerless to change a situation we are in.  We feel as though we are just stuck and can do nothing.  But I don’t have to be strong in my strength.  In fact, it is better for me when I am not striving to accomplish the deliverance from situations in my own strength.  I need to get out of the way and let Him do the good things He has established for me.  If I am busy doing things in my own strength, then I am the plug in the pipeline of blessings and I need to get out of the way.

When I feel weak it is OK to know that I do not have to be strong in myself or in my abilities. In my weakness He is strong!!  So, I am strong when I am stepping aside and allowing Him to do what He is going to do.  That does not mean that I have no role in this, clearly, this verse indicates that I am a warrior.  A warrior is not sitting on the bench waiting for the battle to be over.  A warrior is in the heat of things, he is advancing so the army can advance.

When I feel like I am too weak to resolve my problems or my issues, when I am too weak to resolve the tower hindrances or anything else, I need to realize it was never going to succeed in my strength anyway.   I need to realize that it is about His strength and not mine.  Then, as a warrior who is strong in the Lord, I go forward.  I line up for battle and prepare to advance.  I am strong in Him even though when I am on the battle lines I may look across the valley to my enemy and see that he grossly outnumbers me (at least by appearances), but I am where I am supposed to be like a warrior, on the battle line ready to advance.

Just like in the story from 2 Chronicles 20:15-17: “…Thus says the Lord to you: ‘Do not be afraid nor dismayed because of this great multitude, for the battle is not yours, but …..17 You will not need to fight in this battle. Position yourselves, stand still and see the salvation of the Lord, who is with you, O Judah and Jerusalem!’ Do not fear or be dismayed; tomorrow go out against them, for the Lord is with you.”

Let the weak say I am strong.  Say it and believe it because in Him you are strong! You are a strong warrior when you position yourself for battle and then stand and watch Him work.
