3 “For we [Christians] are the true circumcision, who worship God in spirit and by the Spirit of God and exult and glory and pride ourselves in Jesus Christ, and put no confidence or dependence [on what we are] in the flesh and on outward privileges and physical advantages and external appearances—“Philippians 3:3    Amplified Bible

Paul is giving us a valuable piece of information for us to remember daily in how we live our lives.  He teaches us that we are to exult, glory and pride ourselves in Jesus.  Our daily lives should involve worshiping Jesus.  It is something that we have to make an effort to do. It is something we have to determine to give time to each day.  He is worthy of our praise and yet for most of us we praise Him only before the teaching portion of Sunday church services.

We have the true convent with the Lord God through Jesus Christ and the evidence of that should be the outpouring of worship to the Lord.  His Spirit is in us and ready to act with us as we evoke worship for Him.  You may feel a bit uncomfortable with worship outside of Church and without the voices of others surrounding your own, but this is the desire of the Holy Spirit that is in you.  It is the desire buried in the soul of each one who has accepted the sacrificial work of Jesus in our lives.  I know, it doesn’t feel like you want to do that, but that is the flesh that is hindering us and blinds us or confuses the expressions of the soul.  It is why Paul says we put no confidence in the flesh nor are we are to put dependence on the flesh.

Your flesh tells you that it is not normal or natural to just spontaneously sing worship and praise to the Lord.  It is the flesh that tells you that you can’t. You were not trained to do this. It is the deception of the flesh and we are to put no confidence in it.  If your mind is telling you that it is just too uncomfortable to try and begin worshipping Him that does not mean that you can’t.  If you have never done this before, that does not mean that you can’t now.  The flesh would tell you something different. But Paul, in the truth of the Holy Spirit of Jesus, is telling you that not only can you, but in your spiritual DNA you want to, that you crave the outward expression of worship to Jesus.  Worship and praise are the result and evidence of the true circumcision, the covenant that you have in Jesus Christ.

In your spirit dwells the Holy Spirit of the Lord, because at salvation He came to dwell within you.  He brought life to your spirit which had been dead or unplugged from the presence of the Lord.  But now, His Spirit has filled your spirit and that ties you directly to the presence of God.  When you read in the Bible regarding what goes on before the throne, what is one of the common things you read?  There is always the presence of His heavenly host that are present and praising and worshipping Him. It is the natural response of the spirit to the presence of the Lord.  His Spirit ties you directly to the throne!  You are always in His presence and the natural outpouring of your spirit is to worship Him also.  In fact, we won’t feel complete in our day until we do.  Ignore the flesh and give in to the inner desire to worship Him.  Let it flow from you and watch how it pours out.  Watch how it changes your mindset and outlook.  We are created to praise Him; we just have to make the decision to respond to that which is in us.
