Jesus Is Still Speaking Blessings

Mar 9, 2021Written Devotionals

“50And He led them out as far as Bethany, and He lifted up His hands and blessed them. 51 While He was blessing them, He parted from them and was carried up into heaven. 52 And they, after worshiping Him, returned to Jerusalem with great joy, 53 and were continually in the temple praising God.”  Luke 24:50-53   NASB

Close your eyes and picture this moment in your mind.  Jesus has risen from the dead and appeared to the disciples. And now, just before He ascends into heaven to be seated at the right hand of the Father in total and complete victory, He speaks words of final blessing over the disciples.  These are the last physical words of Jesus.  Since they are His last words to them, His final truth, encouragement, revelation, and hope for them, you know it is powerful and life-altering.

With that thought in mind, you just have to ask yourself, “What did He say?”  Come on Luke, you recorded that He spoke this final words of blessing on you all, why didn’t you tell us what those words were?  We really want to know!!”

Well, the reality is that Luke did not tell us what those final words of blessing were and when we understand the reason, we are actually glad in the understanding of it.   Notice that Jesus disappeared from them while He was still blessing them.  Jesus was still speaking the blessing over them while He disappeared from their sight, He didn’t finish that blessing.  This is an important realization for us because the truth is this; Jesus never stopped speaking blessing over us. He never stopped speaking the Word of truth.  Even today Jesus is still speaking blessing over all of us and over you personally.

Notice that the blessing He spoke within the hearing of the disciples filled them with great joy and they left there worshipping Jesus.  This is the same words of blessing He is still speaking today and it should have the same result in your life as well.  Listen and hear His words of blessing still being spoken over you and receive that joy, stir that joy within your own soul.   Tune your ears today to hear His ever-present words of blessing over you.
