How You Look In The Spirit Realm
“Who redeems your life from destruction, Who crowns you with loving kindness and tender mercies,” Psalm 103:4 NKJV
When you look at yourself through your natural eyes and with natural vision, it does not give you a true view of who you are. When you look at yourself you are looking through the lens of the natural which is aware of all the failures and faults. It is important to the life of an overcoming believer to know that you are more than what you see and the true reality of what you look like can be seen only with eyes that see into the spirit realm.
According to the verse above, you are crowned with the loving kindness and mercy of God upon you. That means when Satan sees you, he sees you as you are in the spirit realm. He sees you with that very crown upon your head. The enemy of your soul hopes that you fail to see what he does, that you are crowned with His love and mercy. It is when we fail to recognize this and only see ourselves with natural eyes that he can advance against us. We need to know who we are in Christ and see ourselves arraigned in His authority and victory. Do we deserve it? Of course not but that is the amazing part of grace. That is who you are in the spiritual realm and remember that is important because you are spirit, soul, and body. We may not recognize it often but we are always involved in the spirit realm.
Psalm 5:12 gives us another glimpse of our appearance in the spirit realm: “For You, Lord, will bless the [uncompromisingly] righteous [him who is upright and in right standing with You]; as with a shield You will surround him with goodwill (pleasure and favor).”
You walk with His shield surrounding you and protecting you. Part of that shield surrounding you is the promise of His pleasure and favor upon your life. How awesome is that? When we think of a normal shield it is one that only affords us protection in front of us. But with the Lord’s shield, you are surrounded by His pleasure and favor. How can the enemy ever advance upon that? It is only if we fail to recognize what we have and then operate in doubt instead of faith.
We see a final observation of how we look in the spirit realm from Ephesians 1:13. This tells us: “In Him you also who have heard the Word of Truth, the glad tidings (Gospel) of your salvation, and have believed in and adhered to and relied on Him, were stamped with the seal of the long- promised Holy Spirit. You are stamped with the seal of the Holy Spirit.” Consider that Kings had a signet ring with their stamp upon it. When he would affix wax seal upon anything, it carried with it the full authority of the King himself. See the image of you stamped with Lord’s stamp and with that you carry the full authority of the Lord upon you. When the enemy sees you, he sees that stamp and knows that he is powerless against you.
It is easy to see ourselves as defeated in life. Open your eyes to the spiritual realm and see yourself the way the Lord sees you. He just hopes you never see yourself as you really are, crowned in His love and mercy, surrounded by His shield of favor and stamped with His authority. When we realize this we will walk in power and victory.
