How To See The Miraculous

Jun 10, 2017Written Devotionals

22”So Jesus answered and said to them, “Have faith in God. 23 For assuredly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be removed and be cast into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that those things he says will be done, he will have whatever he says.”  Mark 11:22-23   NKJV

Jesus is talking about operating in the supernatural and about seeing the miraculous in this life.  Most of us don’t talk in those terms today. We might be pleasantly surprised to see the supernatural in life but we rarely expect it.  But here is Jesus telling us directly that if we wish to see the supernatural in life, this is what we must do.  Hmmm, that makes me think we should do some re-evaluating of our expectations.  Perhaps I have set my expectations for what Jesus wants to do in my life and through my life too low.  What about you?  Do you want to see the miraculous, that which is impossible in this life outside of Jesus, the Lord of all?  If so, then it is really important to consider what He tells us in these two verses.

It is not all that complicated of a matter to position ourselves to usher in the supernatural in this life.  Jesus precedes His example of the supernatural that we can expect in this life with the simple command “Have faith in God.”  If you want to see supernatural results from what you speak, then there must be total faith in God which means an absence of doubt and a mind operating in just faith.

I know I lost some of you who say, “That is not so easy a thing after all!”  Well, it is much simpler than you think.  To begin with you already have all the faith you need.  You have the faith of Jesus already invested in you.  If you have His faith than you have more than enough faith, so that is not a problem.  So, if you have enough faith, then you just need to remove the doubts which counteract the faith that you have.  Removing doubt, now that can’t be easy right?  Well, yes it is.

Romans 10:17 tells us, “So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God”.  It means that the more I hear the Word, the more the faith that is already in me is strengthened and released.  Just as hearing His Word has an effect on our faith, so then does hearing the things of the world (which are contrary to the Word) have a similar effect on our doubts.  The more I listen to the world, what this natural realm tells me, the more I am increasing my doubts which then counter my faith.

Eliminate your doubts by avoiding the evil reports of this world and increase the release of your faith by hearing the Word and focusing on the Word of God.  Do these things and you position yourself to see the miraculous.  Do these two simple things and you have faith enough to speak and experience the supernatural.  Don’t take my word for it, try it and experience for yourself what Jesus has spoken.
