High Priest Of Good Things
“…how God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power, who went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with Him.” Acts 10:38 NKJV
This verse is such a simple and powerful message for us to remember as we go through the struggles of this life. Jesus went about doing good. What does Jesus do? He does good, not bad. When bad things come into our life it is easy for us to say, “Why did Jesus do this to me?” And that is exactly the deception Satan wants you to believe. Because if we believe that Jesus brings us bad things, then we will never fully put all our trust upon Him. But this simple verse clears up that misconception forever.
When sickness comes or troubles or that which leads to sorrow and discouragement, they do not come to you from Jesus. He does not go about doing bad; He goes about doing good only. Jesus does not bring bad things into your life so that you can learn from them. That is a lie. This verse definitively answers that question. Jesus went about doing good. We confuse that sometimes and often we have been taught to think that way, but this verse makes it clear that Jesus does good in your life. When bad things come, they come from the devil not from Jesus. Don’t confuse the source of blessing with the source of oppression.
Hebrews reinforces this truth to us: But Christ came as High Priest of the good things to come, with the greater and more perfect tabernacle not made with hands, that is, not of this creation. Hebrews 9:11 NKJV
Jesus is our High Priest of better things that are coming for you, and they come directly from Him because of His love for you. Don’t just accept the troubles that come to life. You don’t have to receive sickness and struggles as just fate. You have better things coming to you because of who Jesus is. He wants you to expect those better things He has for you regardless of your present circumstances, because He has already paid the price to establish these better things to come to you in this present life! As He was in the flesh 2,000 years ago, He still is today. He is the one going about doing good and good only, in your life. Believe that and receive it.
