Get In Your Fixed Position

1’He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High shall remain stable and fixed under the shadow of the Almighty [Whose power no foe can withstand].” Psalm 91:1   Amplified Bible

If you are feeling a bit vulnerable in life, if you feel like the attacks of the enemy are finding their way to you, perhaps you need to consider where you have positioned yourself.  We have to remember to situate ourselves in the position of being under His protective and powerful shadow.  As we focus our attention on the problems of life and dwell on the things of this world, our eyes sway away from Him and we tend to follow where our eyes are leading.  Suddenly we find that somehow we have wandered off from that position of safety under the shadow of the Almighty!

Dwell in His presence and your position under His shadow is stable and fixed, you will not wobble or grow weak from that position.  When that is where we dwell, no force can come against us with any success.  In fact, any attacks of the enemy regardless of how terrifying they may appear will be thwarted by the power of God Himself.  The verse says that the enemy that comes against us cannot withstand the power of God.

Can you see that when God stands for you and stands over you in protection, this is not passive protection?  There is an action on His part for our safety and deliverance.  When we are situated under His shadow, the power of the Almighty is going out and destroying that which would even attempt to come against us.  That is a good place to be.

To be in the shadow of the Almighty indicates that we are in close proximity to Him. The only way for that to be accomplished is for us to continue to invest ourselves in time with Him, in the Word and prayer.  If we go down a little further to verses 9 and 10 we read:”9Because you have made the Lord your refuge, and the Most High your dwelling place, 10There shall no evil befall you, nor any plague or calamity come near your tent.”

Since you have positioned yourself in the shadow of the Almighty you have truly made the Lord your refuge and dwelling place.  He always dwells in us as He told us. He would never leave us nor forsake us but we must choose to dwell with Him, to place ourselves with Him.  So here is the promise for you today and tomorrow because you have made this choice.  NO EVIL SHALL BEFALL YOU!   Whatever evil might be stirred against you, it will be violently dealt with by the very power that “no foe can withstand”.  The enemy may have plans in place for you but you have nothing to fear because no calamity shall come near you. Why? Because you are situated and fixed in your position under His shadow!
