Finding Our Role in the Kingdom
20 Now may the God of peace who brought up our Lord Jesus from the dead, that great Shepherd of the sheep, through the blood of the everlasting covenant, 21 make you complete in every good work to do His will, working in you what is well pleasing in His sight, through Jesus Christ, to whom be glory forever and ever. Amen. Hebrews 13:20 NKJV
We often wonder about our role in the kingdom, are we doing what we are supposed to, what we are intended to do? Verse 20 above ends with the assurance that His peace is upon you and His power as well, through the covenant of blood we have entered into with Him. But then look at verse 21; because of that covenant of blood, and in that power and peace, we are told that “He Himself will complete you”.
We wonder about what we are and what we will be for Him, and yet when He looks at you, He sees all that He has for you to become. He sees you through His power and there is peace in that reality in Jesus, not stress and anxiety. Don’t fret and worry about what you are or what you are not. Don’t think about what others might expect from you or the direction that they might think you should go. You have His power to complete you and guide you into BECOMING what His will is for you to become.
Stop struggling to discover what your role is or how you can ever fulfill that role. It is not your problem, it is His. All you have to do is look to Him and operate in that calm assurance of His peace. Then He will get you to where He needs you to be and doing what He needs you to do so that you can live in that joy of a harmonious walk with Him towards His destination for you.
