Faith Is A View Of The Spiritual Realm

“NOW FAITH is the assurance (the confirmation the title deed) of the things [we] hope for, being the proof of things [we] do not see and the conviction of their reality [faith perceiving as real fact what is not revealed to the senses].”         Hebrews 11:1    Amplified Bible

We are all familiar with the famous “faith verse” from Hebrews chapter one, but when we read it in the Amplified Bible it gives a deeper understanding of what faith really is.  The foundation of our understanding from the King James Version presents the first part of the verse this way: “Faith is the substance of things hoped for”.  We read that but do we believe that?  Often we think of faith as believing something that is not real.  We have the mindset that “if I can just believe hard enough for something that does not exist it will somehow become real”.  Guess what. If that is the way we are approaching faith we will be frustrated in our efforts to see the promises of God become realities.  We just read that faith is “substance”.  That means the things we believe for are real and have substance.  Faith sees that reality and brings it from the spirit realm into the natural realm where we live.

Let’s go back to the Amplified Bible.  It tells us that faith is the assurance, confirmation and title deed to the things we are believing for.  There is a powerful truth in each of those descriptions.  First, faith is the “assurance” of those things you are believing for.  If you have a job and your boss tells you that your promotion is assured, what do you do?  You go home and tell your spouse and family and friends.  Why? Because it is assured and even though you do not see it yet, you believe it because it has been assured to you.  You have taken ownership of it even before it becomes a reality in your physical world.  It is done, even before you have the evidence to support it.  This is what faith does for us in the spiritual realm.  It assures us that what is done in the spirit realm is on its way to your natural reality.  You have to know that truth and believe it.

Faith is your confirmation for those promises of God in your life.  If you pay for a hotel room over the phone or internet and are not present at the location when you do this, they give you a confirmation number.  You do not possess the hotel room. It is in some far away city that you cannot see with your natural eyes at that moment.  However, you have a confirmation so when you arrive at that hotel you do not have to worry that you will have to pay once more.  You have a confirmation which is your guarantee that what you possess is yours.  When you paid for that room in another city the confirmation was your certainty.  So it is with faith. It is your confirmation that what you desire and believe from the Word is yours, even though you may not yet see it in the physical.  It is real in the spiritual realm and confirmed for your soon delivery from the spiritual into your natural reality.

Finally, we need to see our faith as our title deed.  This means that what you believe is legally yours and no one can take it from you.  If the circumstances do not appear to be lining up with that spiritual reality, you can enforce the Word you are standing on because faith is title deed to that which was promised.  With faith, you see the realities in the spiritual realm until they become realities in your natural world.
