Comfort From A Constellation

Some years ago, my wife and I were on the beach in Florida and looking at the amazing stars in the heavens, the stars that God created, named, and holds in place. The night sky is such a stunning example of His power and His faithfulness. I was pointing out to her a few of the constellations and we got focused on Canis Major one of the dog constellations.
In Canis Major, the primary star you see is a star named Sirius and it is one of the brightest stars in the night sky during the winter months. Because of this, Sirius is one of the easier stars to find in the heavens when you are enjoying the stars above. There is another star in the constellation named Sirius B. It can be identified because it is the next brightest star in the constellation. It is famous among creation scientists because it causes a real problem for Evolutionists.
When you look at the stars in Canis Major all the stars are white but history has a different report regarding Sirius B. It has been seen and documented by cultures for thousands of years. The Egyptians record that it was a red star in about 2000 BC. The great Roman Orator Cicero writes about it in 50 BC and also makes a note of the fact that it is a red star. Another Roman, Seneca, describes Sirius B as being even redder in hue than the planet Mars which still today is clearly red in the night sky today. In 150 AD the great astronomer Ptolemy records Sirius B as one of the 6 red stars.
Several thousand years ago Sirius B was a red star, but over the centuries that has changed and today it is a white star. Why was it red and is now white? It is because today Sirius B is a white dwarf star. Here is the problem that this presents for Evolutionists. According to modern evolutionary astronomy, it takes at least 100,000 years for a red star to collapse into a white dwarf. It does not just happen, it is a slow process. So if we know that it was a red star at least a late as 150 AD, according to evolutionary astronomy it should not become a white dwarf star for another 98,000 years.
That is a big problem evolutionary astronomers but it again shows that God is in control and He is the one that holds all things together in His perfect time. Things in life are not random as evolutionary science would have us believe. God is in complete control and will not be mocked.
Regardless of what you face today, and how hopeless it may appear in the natural, we are not bound by the natural. We enjoy the victories of the supernatural in Jesus. Look to Him and His promises and not the wisdom of the world. Then you will see the deliverance of His hand in ways the world will not comprehend.
