Strings That Move Mountains

“So the Lord said, “If you have faith as a mustard seed, you can say to this mulberry tree, ‘Be pulled up by the roots and be planted in the sea,’ and it would obey you.”    Luke 17:6    NKJ

The amazing thing about science is that the more we understand, the more we see the veracity of God’s Word.   When we read the Words of Jesus let’s not forget that they are just as applicable to our lives now as to those that heard them initially 2,000 years ago.   In fact, perhaps they can be better understood today because our scientific advancements constantly demonstrate the accuracy of the Word.  One such instance is found in Matthew 17:20. Jesus tells His disciples (and you and me as well), “I say to you, if you have faith as a mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move; and nothing will be impossible for you.” However, do we believe that there is power in the things that we say, just as Jesus said?  We should!

For better than 2,500 years science has believed that there was nothing smaller than the atom. The belief was that matter could not be subdivided any smaller than that.  In fact, many of us were taught that same thing in school.  But now we know that atoms have smaller particles like electrons, protons, and neutrons.  Even the latter two consist of smaller particles called Quarks.  Now science believes that there is even smaller matter, something that is the foundation, something that everything else is built upon.  These are small little particles of energy called “strings”.  These little strings of energy vibrate and the variation in vibrations determines what builds up from there.  They appear to be the starting point for all that we see in this physical world.

It is interesting that the smallest particles in the universe are simply energy that vibrates, much like the strings on a violin vibrate and create sound.  Think of it, vibrating energy determines what is built on from there.  Now ask yourself this: what form of vibration do we produce every day of our lives?  The sound of our voices!  Jesus said that we would speak to our mountains and they would be moved.  Think of the smallest building blocks of our natural world being energy that vibrates to create greater elements of matter.  As we speak the Word in faith, we are creating vibrations with the power and authority of Jesus.  Imagine those little building blocks of vibrating energy having their vibrations altered by the sound of your voice with the authority of His Word.  When you speak in faith, things change at the subatomic level and can be revealed in your life as mountains being moved.

So what are the mountains in your life?  It is a financial issue, or health matter or maybe something else?  Hear the Words of our Lord instructing us to speak to those problems, to speak to that mountain and it shall be moved.  Perhaps this truth can be better understood by the little strings of energy that science is just now starting to examine.  Speak to mountains of in your life.
